I Speak Cantonese
Alright OK alright here we go. Big last couple of days. The Clumsy Dragon, a musical for kids that I wrote with children's book author Lauren Collier Swindler won a nice big award. And damn if we didn't get the SUDDENLY BRIGHT OUT CD Release party finalized.
It's gonna be Saturday, May 8th, at the illustrious Club DeVille in Austin, TX. Check the LIVE DATES option in the MUSIC section for more info. Come at 8 for a solo set, a cocktail, conversation and snackables. Stay to hear my brand new band. Well, new to me at least! You're gonna be suprised . . . it's really wonderful.
I'll remind you again next week, so don't bother writing it down if you're feeling lazy at the moment, or it's the middle of the night or something and you just . . . can't . . . not right now. Subscribe to my e-list and said reminder lands right in your inbox. I'm cool that way.
Evidently some of you crazies are into poetry. Well you know now that there are a few things you can count on me to furnish. And that just happens to be one of them.
I speak Cantonese in the Sea while out of my body
We burn spectacularly
Lonesome, only hoping
And older than anything at all
Heaven is levels away
Starting blocks
Weapons
Heart beats
Everything instantaneous
Momentum is unreasonable
So we always wait
Then leap from our beds like startled birds
At the Trinity
I have an idea
Like nothing but statements in Topcoats
If we are Holy we don’t know it yet
I am rescued for a mission
So I will die
Accordingly
