Sin Titulo

I had a really nice time on Saturday night at the CD Release party. It was great to see everyone, and I understand the soundman did an outstanding job of making me sound like Chris Isaac - or Bryan Ferry - depending on who you ask. (Gabel, I saw pictures. The film you projected on the cliffs behind us looked amazing.)

We’re going to do something like this again soon, before it gets too hot. Maybe on the 29th at The Vortex. In the meantime, here’s a little something to read. I don’t know where these figures are headed. For now they’ll just live here.

It’s morning now.
I wake and want to read
Something you’ve written.
Before long, I think, I will recognize myself
There in your thoughts.

I rush.
There is time to do it quickly
If I must.
But I make mistakes.
I am confused by this new lack of distance.
Here with you, and there with you.
Mixed up intricate, among the injured.
An antelope on an open plain,
Left alone to unravel your immensity and fear.
Not calling out. Not saying anything clearly.
Not even thinking, finally, of you.
But of us.
