You Name It

I leave again in one hour. I’m not confused; I just don’t recognize the way I feel about it. It’s very specific. But as I say, it’s unfamiliar, and surprisingly powerful – maybe because it’s new. There’s a lot that’s new at the moment, this month I mean. And I like it. I told a friend last night that it’s as if what I thought all along was a square is actually a cube. It’s a little unnerving contacting those other dimensions the first time. What am I talking about exactly? You name it. The way it works with me is one thing changes, it all changes. It’s just a place to begin.

I have agreed to be astounded
I have agreed not to hope
There is more but it is implicit
Grass
He will leave us for no good reason
You’ll barely notice
I might respond
Wilt
Between drinks
Wilt, winter fences
Begin. Automatically.
We spoke about it
We sang phone books
Both of us
Lonesome
Until the sun rose.
