Coffee is Weird

I live across the street from an austin energy substation. Basically that means there is always a buzz around my house.

I don't notice it so much during the day; there's just too much going on. Even on quiet days, or in between passing cars, my mind is occupied in such a way as to always drown out the buzz. Things get handled. Needs are met. Contemplation, by design, is kept to a minimum.

At night though is a whole other story. After the sun goes down and tired people start to rest and try to go sleep folks like me start to buzz a little. It's not our fault. It's just the way we're wired, so to speak.

Buzzing, in my opinion, is a way of letting off excess energy. It's like sweating -- but through your nervous system, instead of your skin. I don't know why that substation isn't perfectly designed. I don't know what it has trouble dealing with, or how it has to adjust.

As for my own design, it's fine. As long as I don't drink too much coffee; coffee turns me all electric, and does it in a hurry.
