The Christmas Story

There's something wrong with my toe. I don't know what the problem is exactly, but it aches. It's my big toe, on the right foot -- the one I use to balance, and to kick with. It's not like some dramatic thing where I would make an appointment to see someone or something. But it's real, and for some reason I think it has to do with the Christmas story.

I can't place it exactly, but this thing with my toe and God incarnating as a child born in livestock shit and straw, they're connected. I know I focus on it too much. I know it doesn't matter. I know it's all about perspective, and I'm a little embarrassed by this small annoyance. But if I don't care for this silly toe then who will?
